North East Trees is working with the Baldwin Hills Conservancy on a grant given by the California Natural Resources Agency to work on the La Brea Corridor Planning Study. The project is focused on envisioning a greenbelt trail along the S. La Brea Ave. corridor between Exposition Blvd & Stocker St. in South Los Angeles. This urban trail would connect Jim Gilliam Recreation Center, Kenneth Hahn State Regional Park, and Norman O. Houston Park to surrounding communities and provide park access to neighborhoods who currently do not have access. We encourage participation from members of the Baldwin Hills, Leimert Park, West Adams, and all surrounding communities to participate in this planning study.
